Wilton I Cakes

Here are a few photos from my first class.

This first cake was for Lindsey's Birthday. She's a co-worker and I had only had one class before I made this cake.
I was pertty happy with how it looks. I had just learned about different frosting types but didn't really know much more.
It was a double layer chocolate cake, with a frosting center with Vanilla Cream frosting.

Here's a detail of how the sides were done.

During the class we have to bring in our own frosting and cakes to practice our skills on. This was my first practice cake. It's personally a little busy for me, but it was really to try out my different frosting and covering techniques.

Wilton I and Wilton II were right before I played tennis with the girls. My day went from work, directly to cake decorating class, then directly to tennis. (It made for a crazy Wednesday) After tennis we would dive into the cakes, figuring our hour of tennis burned all the calories we were about to consume.

The next week was our final class from the 1st session. I decided that since we were going to be eatting it after tennis that I would decorate my final cake with a tennis theme. I put all our faces on the cake and I made our tennis coach the ball.
